Fake PMO official detained with armed bodyguard at PM Modi event venue in Mumbai

Security arrangements at an event in Mumbai were put to the test on Tuesday after two individuals were detained at the venue where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to attend an event.According to Mumbai Police, one of the detained individuals was a 24-year-old man who was allegedly claiming to be an official from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). He was at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), the venue for the Prime Minister’s scheduled event.The situation became more serious when police found that the man was accompanied by a bodyguard who was carrying a gun.

An FIR has been filed at BKC PS under various BNS sections including impersonation of a public servant and unlawful entry armed with a weapon. Crime Branch is conducting further investigation.
