Trump oddly boasts about how many Americans have been killed in his Iran war compared to Vietnam

President Donald Trump highlighted the American death toll in the ongoing Iran war , framing it as relatively low when compared to past foreign conflicts, drawing criticism from both sides of the aisle.
On Tuesday night, Trump posted a graphic on Truth Social which outlined the duration and casualties of wars initiated under previous presidents.
“Vietnam War: 19 years, 58,220 DEAD. Korean War: 3 years, 36,574 DEAD. Iraq War: 9 years, 4,600 DEAD. Afghanistan War: 20 years, 2,000 DEAD,” it stated. The current war was labeled simply as the “Iran Military Conflict,” accompanied by the line “18 DEAD.” The graphic also included “Venezuela War: 1 day, 0 DEAD.”

His post came just days after Iranian strikes on U.S. bases in Jordan and Iraq killed four American service members , underscoring the human toll of a conflict that has ravaged the Middle East and spiked global fuel prices . In addition to the total of 18 U.S. service members who have been killed, roughly 500 more have been wounded, the Pentagon has said.
