W.B. CM says trying to create employment opportunities for youth; inaugurates LTM’s state-of-the-art IT campus
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari urged skilled and educated professionals from the State working elsewhere in India and abroad to return, assuring them of employment opportunities under the “double-engine government”
Observing that the objective of his government was to create employment opportunities for the State’s large pool of educated youth, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday (August 27, 2026) inaugurated LTM’s ( Larsen & Toubro Group Company) state-of-the-art IT campus, ‘Ananda Niketan’, in New Town.
The Chief Minister also urged skilled and educated professionals from the State working elsewhere in India and abroad to return, assuring them of employment opportunities under the “double-engine government”.
Mr. Adhikari assured LTM, formerly known as LTIMindtree, that the State government would hand over an additional 10 acres of land for setting up a data centre. The company had written to the government seeking the land around two months ago, he said.

“West Bengal is moving ahead with immense momentum. With our rich talent pool, upcoming world-class infrastructure and brand new Industry-friendly policies, West Bengal is fast cementing its position as the premier tech and innovation hub,” Mr. Adhikari said in a social media post.

After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government came to power in West Bengal in May 2026, the new government has attempted to re-brand West Bengal as an investment destination. The State government which has promised sops to industries has also stated that it will bring in a new industrial policy.
