TVK-led alliance named Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance
TVK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will be the chairperson of SSJVA.
The post-poll alliance in Tamil Nadu led by the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which includes the Congress, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), has been named Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance (SSJVA).
The alliance was formally given the name at the second meeting of the TVK’s post-poll alliance partners held at the party headquarters in Panaiyur on the outskirts of Chennai on Wednesday (September 9, 2026). TVK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will be the chairperson of the alliance.
The alliance partners have decided to work together in both Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The decision was taken during the meeting chaired by Mr. Vijay for more than two hours. The candidates for the upcoming bypolls for Madurantakam and Dharapuram, on behalf of the SSJVA, are set to be announced on Thursday (September 10, 2026).
