Bomb threat forces diversion of Air India Express flight to Ahmedabad

After the aircraft landed in Ahmedabad, security agencies checked the aircraft and found nothing suspicious; the official said an investigation has been launched

An Air India Express flight from Saudi Arabia’s Dammam to New Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad after a crew member discovered a tissue paper carrying a message warning that there was a “bomb” aboard the aircraft.

After the aircraft landed in Ahmedabad, security agencies checked the aircraft and found nothing suspicious. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), ‘G’ Division, V. N. Yadav, told PTI . The official said an investigation has been launched.

The flight had 32 passengers, who were accommodated at Terminal 2 of the Ahmedabad airport.

Air India Express stated, “The government-appointed Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was alerted immediately, and all security procedures promptly initiated. The flight landed, and all guests disembarked safely. The aircraft will be released for operations after necessary security checks are completed.” (With PTI inputs)
