Medical Emergency Forces Air Mauritius Flight MK017 To Divert Rome

An Air Mauritius flight from Paris to Mauritius was forced to make an emergency diversion to Rome on Monday 24 August 2026 after a cabin crew member suffered a medical emergency on board.

Flight MK017, which had departed Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle bound for Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, was rerouted to Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome, according to a statement released by the airline on Tuesday 25 August.

Upon landing, the crew member was disembarked immediately and handed over to local authorities for urgent medical care.

Following the completion of necessary operational and regulatory procedures, the aircraft departed Rome at 04:27 Mauritian time. It was scheduled to arrive at its final destination in Mauritius at 14:30 on Tuesday afternoon.

Air Mauritius confirmed that it remains in close contact with the crew member and their family to provide all required support, extending its wishes for a swift and complete recovery.

The carrier also expressed its gratitude to the passengers aboard flight MK017 for their patience and understanding during the unexpected diversion.
