SpiceJet chor hai: Passengers protest after 2 Dubai flights delayed by 24 hours

Two SpiceJet flights from Delhi to Dubai were delayed by over 24 hours due to operational reasons following the grounding of an aircraft, the airline said on Tuesday. The delays left passengers stranded at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, where angry fliers staged protests and raised slogans of “SpiceJet chor hai” and “SpiceJet haye haye”. Flight SG 5111 was scheduled to depart on Monday at 7:45 am but was first rescheduled to 9 am on Tuesday.

Another flight, SG 5105, scheduled to depart at 6:45 pm on Monday, was rescheduled to 12:30 pm on Tuesday.According to sources, passengers of both flights remained stranded at the airport and staged sit-in protests on Monday and again on Tuesday, demanding clarity on the departure time, food and accommodation.Sources said no SpiceJet staff were present to address the passengers' concerns for a considerable period.
