Three restaurants operated by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in Mumbai remained closed after Maharashtra's Food and Drug Administration suspended their licences following inspections that uncovered hygiene violations. The affected outlets include the main food establishment at Hare Krishna Land, ISKCON Juhu Food Services, and Govinda's Restaurant. Inspecting teams detected pest infestations, blocked drainage, standing water in cold storage, and inadequate raw material checks and documentation. The action is part of the FDA's Safe Food Save Maharashtra drive, under which authorities have introduced year-round standard operating procedures and mandatory prior permissions for large community feasts.
A debate on India Today examined the demolition of a mosque structure in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and notices issued in Moradabad.
