No 'solid proof' Morocco planned Ceuta migrant rush, says Spanish PM Sanchez

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said Thursday there was no "solid proof" that Morocco orchestrated a migrant rush into Ceuta in July, despite a police report highlighting multiple failings by Moroccan security forces.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Thursday said there was no "solid proof" that Morocco orchestrated a migrant rush into Ceuta in July, after a police report highlighted multiple failings by Moroccan security forces.

No legal or police institution, "nor the diplomatic service, nor the European Commission , nor any international body, has submitted solid proof to the government of Spain that Morocco planned or executed the incident", Sanchez told parliament.

However, he said that Moroccan border guards had allowed people to cross the border for "10 hours" into the Spanish enclave.
